Definition
Examines, recognizes, and grasps the
meaning of written characters, words and sentences (in the
English language). This includes the ability to understand
and learn from written materials by discerning essential
facts, main ideas, and/or the essential message. Interprets
written materials including rules, instructions, reports,
charts, tables, articles, and technical/professional
publications. Infers and applies information from written
materials in situations related to the job.
